My 4-year-old spends a solid 30 minutes pushing the chunky pegs into the sea floor scenes, which is a miracle for her attention span. The different sizes mean she actually has to think about which one fits, so it's a puzzle and a toy at once.

My 4-year-old will sit for a solid half hour pushing the chunky pegs into the sea floor scenes, which is a miracle for her attention span. The mix of peg diameters means she has to actually think about which one fits where instead of just dumping them all in.

The different peg sizes are what sold me — my daughter sorts the fat ones from the thin ones before she even starts building. The sea floor scenes keep her busy on rainy afternoons, and the pegs pop in easily without needing much force.
