The seven holes are each a different size, so my daughter actually has to think about which piece fits where instead of just jamming them in. The daisy-shaped base is bright enough that she spots it the second I bring it out.

My two-year-old figured out the size matching within a day, and now she just sits there sorting the shapes over and over. The daisy base is sturdier than I expected for a toy at this price.

The seven holes are all different colours, which keeps my two-year-old sorting them by colour before she even tries the shapes. Plastic feels sturdy enough to survive being tossed down the stairs, which it has been.
